Privacy policy

Short version: your photos stay on your Mac, this website doesn't track you, and we keep only what's needed to sell you a license and keep it working.

Your photos

Goldfinch edits and analyses your photos on your Mac. We never receive your photos, your edits or your project folders. If you connect Goldfinch to Claude or another AI app, that app sees what it asks Goldfinch for (photo names, edit settings and previews), and that goes to its maker (Anthropic, for Claude) under your agreement with them, not to us.

This website

No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and no cookies. Our host, Cloudflare, processes requests (including IP addresses) to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We count downloads per day, without recording who downloaded.

Buying

Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as the reseller for Goldfinch purchases and handles sales tax and VAT.Stripe collects your payment details underits privacy policy; we never see your card number. Stripe tells us your email address, country and what you paid, which we keep to deliver and support your license, handle refunds and meet tax and accounting rules.

Licenses

When you activate, deactivate or the app re-checks a license (about once a week, when online), Goldfinch sends us:

• your license key;
• a machine id: a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware id, so we never see the id itself;
• your Mac's name (for example “Jane's MacBook Air”), so you can tell your Macs apart when moving a license;
• the Goldfinch version.

We store these with the license, plus when each Mac was last seen. They're used only to run licensing.

Email

We send your license key by email through Resend. We don't send marketing email unless you ask for it. When you write to us, we keep the conversation to help you.

Updates

Goldfinch checks download.usegoldfinch.com for updates about once a day. That request carries no personal data beyond what any web request does (such as your IP address).

Keeping and deleting data

We keep license and purchase records while your license exists and as long as tax law requires. To see or delete your data, emailhello@usegoldfinch.com. Deleting license records means the license stops working.
